What’s a Neighborhood Dumpster Day?
Neighborhood dumpster days (formerly "neighborhood clean-ups") are free disposal drop-off services provided to neighborhoods in Richmond. Residents may drop off disposable items to dumpster locations in their neighborhood at no cost. Dumpster days are drop off only and do not include curbside collection services, except for seniors and residents with disabilities.
The City of Richmond hosts neighborhood dumpster days in partnership with Republic Services, Sims Metal, and each neighborhood's respective neighborhood council.
Dumpster Day Schedule and Locations
Neighborhood dumpster days begin at 8:00 am and end at 12:00 pm or when all dumpsters are full. Dumpsters are usually placed at 1-4 locations in your neighborhood. Events are held on Saturdays in the spring, summer, and fall. The City of Richmond is pleased to announce that starting in 2022, neighborhood councils will receive at least one dumpster day each year rather than every other year.

HDNC June 18th Summer Event
Summer Lane hosted the first HDNC community event on June 18, 2022 from 10 am - 1 pm. at its clubhouse. This event was an opportunity for Hilltop District neighbors to socialize after months of isolation. The event held 50+ attendees from surrounding Hilltop and Richmond District neighborhoods. It was filled with fun events for both kids and adults, such as face painting, karaoke, games and raffle prizes. We would like to thank the following sponsors for donating raffle prizes: Prologis (and refreshments), SGT Security, A Plus Tree, Fresh Maintenance and Emerald Landscape.
