Glydways, an autonomous vehicle company, has secured a 3-year agreement to use the Hilltop Mall parking lot for testing their self-driving cars. As part of the deal, they will operate out of the old Sears building and utilize the parking area to conduct tests before the cars are introduced to the public in 2027.

This initiative is working towards a $450 million infrastructure project spanning Brentwood, Antioch, and other cities like San Jose.

However, if revitalization plans for Hilltop Mall proceed within the next 5 years, Glydways has committed to vacating the space when required.
